Files & answers

What file types can I upload?+

PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, text and markdown, up to 25 MB per file — by drag-and-drop or from a synced drive. Images and scanned documents become searchable through OCR. Each document shows live processing status and is queryable the moment it's ready.

How do citations work?+

Every answer streams in with numbered citations. Click one and the source panel opens the exact passage, with its document title, page number and version — plus a permission-checked download of the original file. If nothing relevant exists in your library, AskMyDocs says so instead of guessing.

What happens when a file changes?+

It becomes a new version of the same document — never a duplicate. Answers use the latest version by default, and you can ask about history naturally ("what changed from the previous version?") or scope a question to Latest, Last 2, Last 3 or All versions.

Cloud connectors

Which cloud drives can I connect?+

Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox and Box — and you can connect multiple accounts per provider. For each connection, sync the entire drive or hand-pick folders (synced recursively), and re-scope any time. You can also paste a public Google Drive link to import a file directly.

Does sync delete or change my files?+

Never. Sync is read-only, one-way and additive: we read from your drive and never write back, reorganize or delete. Removing a file from your drive doesn't remove it from your AskMyDocs library either.

How fresh is synced content?+

A background refresh runs roughly every 15 minutes, with live "N / M synced" progress in the Sources panel. Changed files come in as new versions of their documents, so nothing stale wins and nothing is duplicated.

Permissions & teams

Who can see what?+

Access is governed by teams, four roles (viewer, member, team manager, admin) and per-document grants to specific users, teams, or a minimum role. Crucially, this is enforced inside the AI's retrieval: content someone can't see is never even considered for their answer, and never reaches the model.

Can I use it just for myself?+

Yes. Personal workspaces are built for exactly that — connect your own drives, ask across your own documents, no team setup required. The Free plan covers 25 documents and 100 queries a month.

How do I sign in?+

Email and password, or Google sign-in. Enterprise single sign-on (SAML/OIDC) is available on request for larger organizations.

Plans & billing

What do the plans cost?+

Free is ₹0 with 100 queries, 200 MB, 3 users and 25 documents. Team is ₹1,999/month with 2,000 queries, 5 GB, 15 users and 1,000 documents. Business is ₹7,999/month with 20,000 queries, 50 GB, 100 users and 20,000 documents. Billing is in INR via Razorpay.

What counts as a query?+

One chat question or one API search equals one query. Uploading, syncing, browsing and downloading never consume queries. Token usage is metered but never blocks a question.

API & webhooks

Is there an API?+

Yes — POST /api/v1/search returns permission-fenced passages with relevance scores, and POST /api/v1/chat returns full cited answers. Keys are created and managed in the admin console, and every API call is workspace-isolated and audited like a signed-in user.

Are there webhooks?+

Two today: document.ready fires when a document finishes processing and becomes queryable, and quota.warning fires as your monthly query quota runs low. Deliveries are signed with HMAC-SHA256 so you can verify authenticity.

Your data

Where is my data stored?+

In AWS's Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region, encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Connector OAuth tokens are additionally sealed with AES-GCM, and workspace isolation is enforced at the database row level.

Can I export or delete my data?+

Yes to both. Export everything on request, and on offboarding we delete it all — documents, versions, conversations and index data. An append-only audit log with CSV export records access along the way.

The fastest answer is asking.
